Minimum wage in 2025 – key changes

Differently than in the last two years, in 2025 the minimum wage will increase once and from 1 January 2025 it will amount to:

  • PLN 4666 gross per month for work and
  • PLN 30.50 per hour.

What will the net minimum wage be in 2025?

Determining the take-home pay will require deducting from the amount of PLN 4666 dues for pension contribution, social pension contribution, sickness contribution and health contribution. In this case, the situation is unpleasant, as PLN 3510.92 will remain from the original amount of PLN 4666. The situation on the employer’s side is also not very attractive. The total cost of employing an employee, after the changes of 2025, will be as much as PLN 5621.59, thus increasing by PLN 440 in relation to the last minimum wage increase of 1 July 2024.

Impact of the minimum wage increase on the labour market

Paradoxically, it is the least qualified workers who stand to lose the most from the new minimum wage Employers are already ringing the alarm bells, reporting that such a high cost of employee maintenance could result in redundancies.

New income criteria in social aid from 2025

From 1 January 2025, the income criteria in social aid will also change:

  • PLN 1010 for a single person and
  • PLN 823 for a person in a family.

Importance of new income criteria for foreigners

These rates are extremely important from the point of view of the possibility of obtaining a temporary residence permit for foreigners and their family members, because if the income is lower than PLN 1010 or PLN 823 respectively, a decision will be issued in the case to refuse the granting of a temporary residence permit.
