Temporary protection has been extended until 4 March 2025 Consequently, the same extension is also applicable to the validity of the certificates 📑 of temporary protection issued to date.
Those who have received a certificate of temporary protection with an expiry date of 4 March 2023, 4 September 2023 or 4 March 2024 at the Foreigners’ Office do not need to apply for new documents. These certificates will remain valid until 4 March 2025.
The legislation does not provide a legal basis for replacing certificates already issued due to the extension of temporary protection. The documents contain an appropriate indication of the extension of their validity by law. Therefore, foreigners who have so far received certificates can continue to use them as residence permits confirming their legal status.
Foreigners who are not covered by the Act on Aid to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with Armed Conflict on the Territory of Ukraine, but who belong to the category of displaced persons listed in the Executive Decision of the Council of the EU stating the existence of a mass influx of displaced persons from Ukraine, may benefit from temporary protection on the territory of Poland. In such a case, the confirmation of benefiting from temporary protection is a certificate issued by the Foreigners’ Office.
